Write to Change the World [EXTENDED] - McAllen, TX, May 29-30, 2019

Write to Change the World in partnership with Sí Texas a project of Methodist Healthcare Ministries of South Texas This highly interactive 1.5-Day seminar will challenge you to think more carefully and more expansively about your knowledge and experience, and why it matters. We will explore the source of credibility; the patterns and elements of powerful evidence-based argument; the difference between being “right” and being effective; how to preach beyond the choir; and how to think bigger—so that we can have greater influence and value in the world. You will emerge with a powerful argument for an idea or cause you believe in, and a network of high-level mentors. This seminar is about empowering you to find your voice and make a case for the ideas and causes you believe in—whether in print, online, on TV, before your board of directors, to potential funders or investors, or on the steps of Congress. And it is about the collective difference we can all make by doing so. In this extended version of our Write To Change The World program (see above), we put our ideas to the test, to generate concrete results, and walk away with a draft of an op-ed. The additional time enhances discoveries and results because participants have the opportunity to absorb and act upon information from day one, and to share their ideas—fleshed out overnight—with each other in a language that is broadly accessible (and perhaps not previously available to them). This also serves to foster community and accelerate cross-pollination. ***Please complete the registration form on the next page to help us serve you better. The OpEd Project is an "everyone" project. We endeavor to have everyone in our rooms because we believe the world's conversation is smarter when everyone is speaking. We ask all of the questions that we do to hold ourselves accountable - to make sure we're doing our best to reach everyone.
